Match Report | A great start to our U15 League Campaign. Sparsholt bowled tightly at the start, conceding few runs in a controlled opening spell from Bertie Hillier (1-16) and Theo MacLean (1-26). Harry Worth (2-7) and Thomas Ley (3-9) struck decisive blows to the Hursley Park middle order with a great demonstration of seam bowling, skilfully using conditions to their advantage. Hursley Park put up a good fight to get to 104 all out, but Sparsholt’s batting then proved too strong. Sam Thompson cracked an impressive 30 to get the innings off to a flying start and James Bailey (28 n.o.) proved a crucial anchor, batting throughout the innings with good judgment and momentum. Bertie Hillier (18) and Joseph Cook (17 n.o.) ensured the result never looked in doubt, so that Sparsholt won by wickets with 6 overs to spare. |
