All Stars Cricket coming to Sparsholt CC
Posted by Nobody on 21 March 2017
On 20th March, the ECB launched it's latest initiative to get more people involved in cricket, starting with this article on BBC Sport http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/get-inspired/39327833.
All Stars Cricket is aimed at 5-8yr olds (School Yrs R, Yr 1, Yr 2, Yr 3) who have not played cricket before. Sparsholt CC have signed up to deliver this exciting new activity and will manage it along side our current U9 Squad. Jim and Helen Ley are leading the charge, with Helen taking on the role of 'Activator' during the sessions. If interested but in doubt whether to join ASC or the U9s, please contact us at youths@sparsholtcc.co.uk.
As part of this initiative (and given the age of the children), the ECB also wants many of the parents to get involved to help with the sessions, with the aim that some will go on to support the club through the age group squads as either coaches, teams managers, etc. This is about increasing participation in cricket at all levels.
There will be 8 one hour sessions, starting in late May, on Wednesday evenings 5-6pm at the Club Ground.
