EGM 26th July
Posted by Tony Edwards on 19 July 2014
To ensure that we remain ClubMark compliant rule 36 of the constitution needs to be amended, and agreed by club members in a members meeting. As you will all be aware the constitution changes are discussed annually at the AGM. However in extenuating circumstances the committee reserve the right to call a supplementary meeting to discuss changes that need to be made between AGM's.
Rule 36 of the constitution currently states:
The Club is bound under the ClubMark requirements to ensure a duty of care to all members of the Club by adopting and implementing the ECB “Safe Hands – Welfare of Young People in Cricket” Policy and any future variations of this policy.
At the EGM next Saturday we will be discussing the reason to change Rule 36 to this:
The Club is bound under the ClubMark requirements to ensure a duty of care to all members of the Club by adopting and implementing both the ECB “Safe Hands – Welfare of Young People in Cricket” policy and the ECB Club Inclusion and Diversity policy and any future variations of these policies.
A vote will be held to decide whether this rule change goes through, if the vote agrees to the rule change it will be included in the constitution from July 27th.
The meeting will take place immediately after the game on 26th July, if you have a view on this change - please make sure that you attend the meeting to make your point known - or email me (secretary@sparsholtcc.co.uk) if you wish to comment but are unable to attend.
